Anyone disturbing painted or coated surfaces on residential housing or Child Occupied Facility built
before January 1, 1978, must have the proper license and use certified workers. This course meets Kansas
Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), EPA, and HUD requirements to be a certified renovator. The course
covers health hazards associated with lead exposure, methods to contain dust and debris during renovation work,
effective cleaning methods, required work practices, and other regulations regarding working on components that
may potentially contain lead-based paint or coatings.
